Clarence Boulay is an author, researcher and scenographer. She holds a doctoral thesis in Visual Cultures at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (School of Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences), and she is particularly interested in the conditions under which performance spaces are created. Her numerous travels to island territories, including eight months spent at Tristan da Cunha in 2011, have inspired her debut novel, Tristan, published in January 2018 by Sabine Wespieser éditeur.
