Benjamin Chaud is one of the most critically acclaimed illustrators and authors in the world, with more than 60 books. He is most famous for his series I Didn’t Do My Homework Because… (Chronicle, 2014), Pompon Bear and Pomelo. His immersive illustrations stand out for their distinctive art style, amusing details and unforgettable characters. His work has received multiple awards, and his books have been recommended by The New York Times. He was awarded the Gold Medal by the New York Society of Illustrators in 2014, and nominated for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award in 2017, 2018 and 2020. He lives in the southeast of France where he specializes quietly in drawing animals that squint.
