Resounding success of the week-long visit in Paris of Mr Dr S. Chandrasekhar, Secretary of the Department of Science & Technology (DST)
Dr S. Chandrasekhar and Mr Peyraud, Co-Chairing the 36th Governing Board Meeting of the Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research (CEFIPRA)
Dr S. Chandrasekhar, Secretary of the Department of Science & Technology (DST) and Co-Chair of CEFIPRA spent his last week in Paris, from the 2nd to 5th May 2023, during which he visited and met representatives from the most important French scientific institutes, notably the Pasteur Institute, INSERM, INRIA and INRAE.
The representatives of Indian Delegation were also received at the French Ministry of Europe & Foreign Affairs, where he met with Jean-Luc Angot, national coordinator of the PREZODE (Preventing ZOonotic Disease Emergence) initiative, in the presence of INRAE and CIRAD representatives. They shared construction discussions about zoonosis prevention and global health issues.
His trip to France was also the occasion to conduct the 36th Governing Board Meeting of the Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research (CEFIPRA), which he co-presided with Mr Peyraud, Co-Chair, CEFIPRA & Director of Department of Culture, Education, Research and Networking French Ministry of Europe & Foreign Affairs. The CEFIPRA Financial Sub-Committee (FSC) also took place.
The Indian delegation met with its French partners in order to prepare the incoming Indo-French Joint Committee, as well as the French National Research Agency (ANR) to discuss the prospects of research funding.
