A Story of colorful adventure

Urban art has once again proven its transformative power with the successful conclusion of Wall Art#4, an extraordinary initiative that brought vibrant creativity to the streets of 13 Indian cities. By stepping out of museums and traditional frameworks, this event aimed to democratise art, turning public spaces into open-air galleries that engaged directly with communities.

The project featured three internationally renowned French artists and a celebrated Indian artist, whose works adorned the walls of neighbourhoods and public buildings. Residents were treated to a visual feast that not only enhanced their surroundings but also delivered thought-provoking messages addressing societal themes. The presence of the artists themselves fostered dialogue and curiosity, encouraging people to connect with the art on a deeper level.

A standout feature of Wall Art#4 was its open-air workshops, where the public witnessed first-hand the creation process. These impromptu sessions offered insights into the techniques and dedication behind the masterpieces, inspiring many to explore art as a profession or hobby. The interactive nature of the event turned urban spaces into hubs of cultural exchange and collective creativity.

Wall Art#4 has left an indelible mark on the cities it touched, proving that art truly belongs to everyone. By bringing together diverse artistic voices and vibrant communities, this initiative has set a benchmark for public art projects, showing how creativity can transform not just spaces but also the lives of those who inhabit them.

➤ 1 month ➤ 4 artists ➤ 2 countries ➤ 13 cities ➤ 13 art events

Priyanka Thaker, the founder of House of Berserk, is a passionate artist who leverages her background in architecture to transform spaces through innovative designs. Since establishing her studio in 2019, she has dedicated herself to creating immersive experiences that bring color and vitality to her surroundings. Inspired by intense emotions and a quest for connection, Priyanka aims for her art to evoke a sense of belonging and refuge, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in a world of imaginative and uninhibited expression.

Elsa Martino is a French artist and muralist currently living and working in Paris. Known for her use of both soft and vibrant colors, she expresses her creativity by illustrating characters with attitudes reminiscent of the 1980-90s. Her inspiration often comes from the fashion magazines.

Elsa works across digital and traditional mediums, frequently exploring new techniques, with large-scale formats being her favorite canvas. Rather than focusing on intricate details, her work emphasizes bold curves depicted in solid colors. What fascinates her most are exaggeration, dynamic poses, and creative framing, which bring a distinctive energy to her art.

Sept, an artist from Reunion Island, is celebrated for his distinctive and recognizable style. Drawing inspiration from local culture and his travels, he has developed a unique artistic language called “tricot”—a superimposition of colorful, intertwining lines that offer a multi-dimensional perspective on his works. His creations, whether murals or studio pieces, seamlessly transition from figurative to abstract, always reflecting his island roots. Via his art, he encourages us to rethink our relationship with the aquatic environment, emphasizing the importance of respecting and protecting it.

Charles Foussard divides his time between La Réunion and Bordeaux. He draws inspiration from the beauty of nature and its abundant forms. In 2000, he began to express this vision, enriched by his travels and influenced by the bunkers on the beaches of the Landes region. His art, infused with poetry and a sense of hallucination, uses acrylic paint with transparent and blurred effects to capture the fluidity and interplay between the visible and invisible. His works, subtle and sensual, question the digital age and social change, inviting viewers on an extraordinary journey into the imagination.
