Teaching French today means having a refined knowledge of the language. Furthermore, students’ understanding of French and Francophone culture needs to be developed simultaneously.

In order to help Indian teachers of French language achieve this dual goal, the French Institute in India provides scholarships to update their language skills by attending a French language course at the nearest Alliance Française and obtain the official certification DELF B1 or DELF B2 issued by France Éducation international.

Who can apply?

  • French language teachers working in Indian schools, colleges and universities
  • Teachers who have already acquired an A2 or B1 level in French
  • Teachers who have already acquired a DELF B2 or above are not eligible to apply

When can one apply?

  • Applications for these scholarships are open throughout the year.
  • Classes will be held at the candidate’s nearest Alliance Française as per their schedule and availability.
