Pradeep Gupta is a dancer and choreographer from Chhattisgarh, India. He has been immersed in the practice of various movement arts such as hip hop, folk dance, contemporary dance including theater for the past 9 years. His work is heavily influenced by the current socio-political, and environmental issues which he incorporates into his choreographic interpretations. His choreographic practice expresses an interest in exploring shapes, lines, sizes and structures, especially of abandoned spaces. Pradeep Gupta’s goal is to continually evolve his choreographic skills and create inclusive performances that represent not only all body types but also various nationalities. Through his choreography, he aims to bring people’s personal stories and their journeys to light.
His work titled “Binda Devi” was the winner of the Prakriti excellence in contemporary dance awards (PECDA) in 2022. Pradeep Gupta is also a scholarship holder of the Goa Dance Residency. Besides this he has worked with Nathaniel Parchment (UK) and has also trained with Dance Pe Lo Chance, Mumbai.
