Jodhpur mission for promotion of university, scientific and linguistic cooperation

A French delegation of four members visited higher educational institutes in Jodhpur on 13th September 2021 to discuss Indo-French cooperation in academic, linguistic, and cultural domains. They visited the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur, National Institute of Fashion Technology Jodhpur, and Jai Narayan Vyas University where they successfully talked about setting up joint collaborative projects in various fields and domains of interest with distinguished officer bearers of respective institutes. This was the first-ever visit of a French delegation to JNVU, the biggest public university in western Rajasthan.

The delegation discussed concrete steps towards increasing student mobility by setting up new exchange programs and joint degrees. They also discussed the possibility of establishing joint research centres as well as organizing more cultural activities including literary and translation workshops, film festivals, and teaching the French language for a specific objective.

During the visit, the delegation also visited two esteemed schools of Jodhpur, Sri Aurobindo School and Mayoor Chopasni School to discuss the academic and linguistic partnership. They discussed signing MoUs to expand French-language education in their respective schools. An initial training programme for local teachers in FLE, as well as a pilot programme for young students in the age of 10-13 years, was a mandate offered to the schools.
