Dear readers, friends,

Even as the year begins with challenges, we are hopeful about what’s coming up in 2022. This seems to be a year of milestones in the friendship nurtured for decades by France and India.

We will celebrate 75 years of Indian Independence and the establishment of Indo-French diplomatic relations. On this occasion, Bonjour India will be back! A fourth and summer edition!

  • Among important moments to look forward to:
  • Choose France Tour: a series of higher education fairs for Indian students, scholars and professionals,
  • India will be the Guest of Honour country at Paris Book Fair,
  • Les Rencontres Francophones – French Rendez-Vous will celebrate francophonie in South India.
New Year Wishes

2022 also marks the 400th birthday of Molière. The playwright and actor gave up the comfort of his father’s merchant life for his passion. When the tragedy was considered to be the noble play genre, he elevated the art of comic drama. Molière’s comedies give us a chance to laugh in unison at our own human flaws. His works have often captivated audiences across India. Have you ever read him or attended one of his plays? Write back to share about the experience!

Along with the French Institute in India’s team, I wish you and your loved ones a blissful and safe new year.
