H.E. Mr Emmanuel Lenain, Ambassador of France to India, had a fruitful meeting with Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao, Director of IIT Delhi, along with several deans and faculty. Given the strong, long-standing friendship between France and India, they held converging views on research cooperation. They discussed agreements for both faculty and student exchanges, expansion of joint PhD supervision, and also agreed to better inform IIT Delhi students on the various study tracks scholars can choose in France. Ambassador Lenain highlighted that the French higher education system had undergone transformations lately. New institutions that have appeared after being merged and revamped are already climbing up the ladder of international rankings. Even greater opportunities for new cooperation that match Indian higher education institutions’ aims are now available.
