For several decades, French language students and teachers/professors in India have conducted research on a wide range of topics as part of their M.A. dissertations and M.Phil./Ph.D. theses in French and Francophone studies.

Research Survey

This survey, jointly organized by the French Institute in India and Québec in Mumbai, aims to gather insights into:

  • The areas of research that have been frequently explored,
  • Topics that are rarely studied or have not yet been undertaken, and
  • The Francophone countries that are most commonly the focus of research efforts.

The survey results will map the historical and current landscape of university research in various domains related to Francophonie. They may also inspire future researchers to explore new, unexamined topics.

Additionally, the findings will help us tailor training sessions to address expertise gaps in certain areas, thereby strengthening knowledge and skills in domains that need further development.

Overall, this survey aims to provide a comprehensive overview of research conducted within French and Francophone departments in Indian universities. By doing so, we hope to highlight patterns, identify areas for growth, and support the academic community in advancing research in French and Francophone studies across India.

Contest: Ma Thèse en 180 Secondes

Selected entries from the Francophone Research Survey will have the opportunity to present their work at a special event dedicated to Francophonie in March 2025.

These presentations will take place in Mumbai, Delhi, and Chennai in front of a distinguished jury, members of Francophone diplomatic missions, and the Francophone network in India.

The objective of the contest Ma Thèse en 180 Secondes is to present complex research within three minutes in a way that is easily understood by non-academics as well.

🏆 Winners of the contest will be felicitated on the same day in the presence of colleagues, diplomats, and active members of the Francophone community! Stay tuned for more updates!
