There are great books, and also great covers. While we’ve often heard not to judge a book by its cover, every avid reader knows how easily we fall in love with a beautifully designed cover, sometimes even before reading the first page. This fascination led us to launch a unique competition inviting readers and designers alike to reimagine the covers of three iconic books, showcasing their creative visions and artistic interpretations.
Book covers are their own form of storytelling. They speak through visuals, capturing the essence of the narrative and inviting readers into worlds filled with mystery, romance, adventure, or contemplation. A single image, a carefully chosen font, or a splash of colour can evoke a universe of possibilities, enticing readers to pick up a book, hold it, and explore the stories within.
Inspired by our exhibition celebrating the incredible diversity and artistry of international covers for French translations, we invited participants to unleash their creativity and passion for design. The response was overwhelming, with numerous captivating submissions demonstrating exceptional originality and artistic flair.
We are thrilled to announce the winners of this exciting contest:
- The Red Notebook – designed by Pradeep Saini
- Arsène Lupin, Gentleman Burglar – designed by Mita Shetty
- Mend the Living – designed by Modeera Fatima
Congratulations to our winners, whose stunning covers beautifully captured the essence of these beloved stories, making each book even more alluring and engaging. We thank all participants for sharing their remarkable talent and enthusiasm, enriching the literary community with their inspired creations.
Stay tuned to see these winning covers featured prominently and celebrate the magic that happens when imagination meets literature.
