The Franco-Indian Campus (FIC) for Life Sciences and Health

The Franco-Indian Campus (FIC) for Life Sciences and Health is a project initiated by the French Government in 2022 that brings together 20 of the most prestigious French and Indian Higher Education and Research Institutions and more than 80 Research laboratories. The goal is to address jointly the Global Challenges related to Life Sciences and Health and build long lasting cooperation between our two countries through student training.

It relies on 4 interconnected projects that cover a large variety of activities from student exchanges, dual degrees, to PhD and thematic research networks in a wide range of research fields– Digital Health, Biotechnology, AI for Health, Therapeutic Innovation, One Health, Public Health Policy, Innovation in Pharmaceuticals and Natural Products, Sports Sciences, Cancer, Immunology, Virology, Infectious diseases, AMR, Neurosciences etc.

The goal of this campus is not only to develop high level academic research networks but also to also build the bridges with the industry and start-up incubation ecosystems and to partner at different levels from Education to Research and R&D Projects.

Event: Industry/Academy Workshop

The aim of this workshop is to bring together representatives of the Franco-Indian Campus (FIC) for Life Sciences and Health with both French and Indian industrial players / innovation / startup ecosystems in the field of Life Sciences and Health in order to:

  • Initiate a reflection on the type of interactions that could be developed between the CFI and the industrial sector and identify mechanisms to facilitate this dynamic.
    • For participants from the industry and the innovation ecosystem: develop a good understanding of what is the FIC and the areas covered in order to identify potential partnership opportunities on certain projects (research or R&D, student internships, education, PhD sponsorship etc.)
    • For academic members of the FIC: Gain a better understanding of French and Indian industry and innovation ecosystems in Life Sciences, Health and related disciplines to identify potential bridges to be built between the FIC and industry partners.
  • Strengthen the dynamics and interactions between the 4 FIC projects.
  • Pre-identify actions that could be highlighted during the Franco-Indian Year of Innovation in 2026.

The Program will be articulated around exchanges (general presentation followed by thematic roundtables and thematic sessions, open discussions) and visits of companies / incubators.
