Prameya Art Foundation announced Loise Braganza as the recipient of the PRAF Artist in Residence 2024 at Cité internationale des arts.

PRAF Artist in Residence (PAIR Award) is an initiative started in 2019 with an aim to extend the presence of artists from India, and promote exchange with diverse contexts through strategic partnerships and collaborations with institutions around the world. PAIR supports mid-career artists who have exhibited widely in India and stand to benefit significantly from an intensive residency abroad. Loise Braganza will be at Cité internationale des arts, Paris for a three-month-long residency with the support of Institut Français.

According to the jury, Loise Braganza has an interesting practice and research that is both in-depth and linked to the local context. She is at a point in her career where she will be able to take full advantage of a residency in Paris.

During her residency, Paris, being the center of the fashion industry, she will look at what is outmoded from fashion that which is being discarded or abandoned to connect to her disembodied fictional character as part of the proposed project, while she works out which techniques of natural dyeing and embroidery.

Loise, along with other artists were nominated by a jury comprising Kamini Sawhney (Board member, CIMAM; curator), Veeranganakumari Solanki (Curator), Nikhil Chopra (Artist), Nandita Jaishankar (Senior Manager, Programmes & Editorial, Serendipity Arts Foundation) and representatives from Institut Français Paris and Cité Internationale des Arts.
