Sébastien Gendron’s Python receives Critical Acclaim

Python, the latest novel by French writer Sébastien Gendron, was published in March 2025 by Gallimard in the prestigious La Noire series. Known as one of the most prolific voices in contemporary French crime fiction, Gendron has authored more than twenty novels across noir and young adult genres, praised for their sharp social critique and dark humour. He developed Python during his 2023 residency at Sangam House in Bangalore as part of the first edition of Villa Swagatam, drawing inspiration from his time in India. The novel has received excellent reviews and marks a striking addition to his acclaimed body of work.
