Sacha Parent and Valentine Tiraboschi

As part of our residency at Hampi Arts Lab, we will continue our research project Le Décor par le Sable, expanding it to engage with the geological richness of Karnataka. We will work at the scale of the landscape, creating a series of site-responsive interventions inspired by the UNESCO World Heritage site of Hampi, the Thungabadra River, regional metal production sites, and nearby nature reserves. In parallel, we will collaborate with local artisan communities to develop a collective project grounded in shared craft knowledge.
Sacha Parent and Valentine Tiraboschi are designers and artisans trained at ENSCI – Les Ateliers and Les Compagnons du Tour de France. By connecting ancient crafts with contemporary design concerns, Sacha and Valentine aim to build a history of ornamental creation in the present day. Their research focuses on material-shaping protocols that draw from both craft and industrial knowledge, in order to produce precise, lasting forms rooted in the heritage of the decorative arts.
