Author-Illustrator
I'm eager to explore how relocating to a new continent will influence my use of tools like gouache, coloured pencils, and collage. I want to explore the ways in which time can be represented through images. Engaging with a foreign editorial team offers fresh insights into graphic processes and the art of book-making.
Mathilde Rives is a Paris-based illustrator and member of 'Pauline Perplexe', an artist-run space in Arcueil. She teaches drawing at ESAD-Pyrénées and balances her work between print and animation, creating both personal projects and commissioned works for press, communication, and children's literature. Rives explores the relationship between language and image through her drawings, which often translate into publications, installations, and animations. Her recent publication includes the children's book "L’été," published by Marcel & Joachim.
