Marisol Santana

Artist and Designer

With a diverse genealogy, I've long been intrigued by my Armenian family's history in Calcutta. My great-grandmother shared our family's Indian experiences through textiles, images, and objects, leaving a deep impression on me. My goal is to craft new narratives using ancestral techniques, documenting and preserving this creative process.

Marisol Santana is a Paris-based multidisciplinary artist-designer with a nomadic background. She combines visual anthropology with design to explore and revive overlooked histories and domestic practices. With a Master’s in Textile Design from ENSAAMA and another in Design, Project Creation, and Transdisciplinarity from Mobilier National, Marisol blends vernacular heritage and symbolism into her work. Her approach uses design as a tool for dialogue and empowerment, collaborating with various artists and artisan communities.
