Marie Gastini exhibits at Design Parade Toulon

15 September 2025

French artist and designer Marie Gastini has been awarded the first Villa Swagatam x æquō Prize at the Design Parade Toulon 2025, organised by Villa Noailles. Her project Atelier d’été d’un peintre en Méditerranée stood out for its poetic approach to the decorative arts and its reinterpretation of domestic practices. Based in Paris, Gastini is a member of the artist collective Les Ateliers du Wonder. A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, she previously worked with Hermès before devoting herself fully to her artistic practice.

Her work is currently featured in the Design Parade Toulon, the annual festival dedicated to emerging talents in interior design, open to the public until 1 November 2025. Visitors are invited to discover her exhibition alongside those of other laureates; further details are available here

As the recipient of the Villa Swagatam x æquō Prize, Marie Gastini will travel soon to India for a residency in Mumbai, in collaboration with the æquō gallery. There, she will engage with Indian artisans and explore new material-driven practices. The resulting work will be unveiled at the India Art Fair in New Delhi in February 2026, highlighting a dialogue between French design and Indian craftsmanship.
