In close collaboration with local communities, I will engage in field visits, draw on-site portraits, and develop a narrative that draws Goa’s rivers, wetlands, wells, and coastal ecosystems, seeking to reflect the emotional, historical, and political meanings they hold for those who live with and protect them.
Julia Bourdet is an illustrator, screenwriter, and artistic director. After beginning her career in advertising, she turned to press and publishing, working with Fluide Glacial and Stock, where she designed impactful book covers. In 2022, she published her first graphic novel, a feminist and ecological coming-of-age tale set in medieval Japan. In 2024, she was selected for the Villa Albertine residency, undertaking a low-carbon journey across the Atlantic and the U.S. to meet climate activists and thinkers. Her current work explores ecological transition through drawing and storytelling, blending travel, reflection, and personal transformation
