Since its inception, dance has been brought to light by the seventh art, and the pioneers of cinema have all worked in it (the Lumière brothers, Méliès, Alice Guy, Pathé). What’s more normal? Cinema and dance have the particularity of constantly questioning and renewing our relationship to space and time through movement.
The short films around dance offer astonishing points of view, personal, dramatic, funny, sometimes nervous or even explosive. This retrospective provides an eclectic panorama of all dance styles and their origins.
