Celebrating the Indo-French diplomatic relations, the logo of Bonjour India is designed, retaining the essence of the festival that is central to fostering human exchanges between the two countries through art, culture, science and education.
The new look and feel of ‘Bonjour India’ are designed as a wordmark logo, hand-lettered with a delicate combination of monoline and script form. The typographic approach was taken for the logo to make it simple, easily recognisable and understandable by people. The colour story symbolically represents the two nations, with the use of red and blue in the letter form B, and saffron and green in the O’s and R. The letterforms in ‘Bonjour’ were developed with an idea to signify celebration, joy and happiness of this unique international collaboration. To enhance this feeling, a play of visual and word mark integration is seen in letters ‘O’ and ‘J’, bringing a subtle, joy-filled and light-hearted smile to its visual appeal. The name of the country ‘India’ and the year 2022’, is thoughtfully composed for ease in tagging the future editions of this festival. Together with the visual language of Bonjour India 2022, it summarises the ethos of the festival that looks forward to bringing together moments of joy, cheer, sharing, being in the open, and connecting with people.
