IFI's new Innovation & Multimedia department has chosen new French films for the screenings at Habitat Film Club. These films reflect the range of contemporary French cinema which goes beyond comedy to social drama to encompass the supernatural. All of the above highly-select films promise narrative and visual delights – not least among them is “Cowboys,” partially shot in India.

Institut français India is happy to participate at The Paris Book Fair 2017 (37th edition), “Livre Paris 2017”, from 24th to 27th March. With 1,200 exhibitors, 45 countries represented, 800 talks and events, 3,000 authors at signing sessions; Livre Paris is an excellent place for all those involved in publishing to meet each other.

Dr Bertrand de Hartingh, French Counsellor for Cultural Affairs launched the network in the presence of the Consul General of France in Mumbai, Mr Yves Perrin, at the Royal Opera House, Mumbai.

Release of the comedy film "Intouchables" in India

French Film “Intouchables” releases in India on 13th July, 2012

Intouchables, a comedy by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache will be released in India on July 13, 2012.

This French film, based on a true story, starring Francois Cluzet as aristocrat Philippe and Omar Sy as ghetto dweller Driss is a heart warming tale of friendship, life and the relationships formed between people without regard to disparity, narrated in a crisp, flowing flashback format.

"Ishqk in Paris" with Isabelle Adjani

Evening in honor of Isabelle Adjani in the presence of His Excellency Mr. François Richier, Ambassador of France to India, on the ocassion of the shooting of the film "Ishqk in Paris".

To mark the presence of the actress Isabelle Adjani in Mumbai, who is currently shooting a Bollywood film, ISHQK IN PARIS, His Excellency Mr. François RICHIER, the Ambassador of France in India, had invited personalities of Indian cinema at a party held on 19th June at the Sofitel Hotel Mumbai BKC.

Training course: Creation of contents and training of authors and moderators for the plateform "La salle des profs"

The Embassy of France / French Institute in India has organized from 21th to 25th May in Chandigarh a training course of creation of contents and training of authors and moderators for “La Salle des Profs”.

Developed on the initiative of the linguistic and educational Department (SLE) of the French Institute in India, La Salle des Profs (http: // india.salledesprofs.org) is an educational platform coupled with a social network for the professors of French in India.

Pondicherry, Photo essay by Sebastian Cortes

Mr Jean-Marin Schuh, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of France in India, the Institut Français en Inde, and Roli Books together presented Pondicherry, a photo essay by noted French photographer Mr Sebastian Cortés on Wednesday, 2 May 2012 at the Residence of France New Delhi.

Sebastian Cortés was joined in the presentation of the book by Aman Nath, co-Chairman Neemrana Hotels, founder member of INTACH. Oroon Das, theatre actor, read excerpts from the book to a packed audience.
