Every year, the French Embassy in India along with French companies award more than 300 scholarships to meritorious young Indian graduates who wish to pursue their higher education in France.
The Charpak scholarship for excellence
This scholarship offers three types of funding:
The Research Internship Program
This program is designed for all students of economics, engineering and science background at the Bachelor’s or Master’s levels who plan to train at French Institutions during their academic break (May to July).
The Exchange Program
This program is designed for exchange students for a period of one to four months (duration of an academic semester) at the Bachelor’s or Master’s degree level.
The Master’s Program
This program is designed for one to two years of studies in France at the Master’s degree level
Many companies offer co-financed scholarships for higher education in France, notably the ISAE-MBDA scholarship to study Master's in ISAE; ISA - Roquette scholarship to undertake studies in ISA Lille etc.

This scholarship programme is for Master level studies in any field for students who have been admitted to a higher education institution in the Parisian region.

The Eiffel scholarship for excellence is managed by the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs with an objective of training academically brilliant international students in French higher education institutes. It is open to Master's and Doctorate students
Raman Charpak Scholarship for doctorate students
The Fellowship Programme is implemented by the Indo French Centre for Promotion of Advanced Research (CEFIPRA) with joint funding from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India and the Science & Technology Department of the French Embassy in India, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of France.
This program intends to develop and strengthen Indo-French scientific cooperation through close collaboration between Indian and French laboratories. The fellowship is a single-phase fellowship scheme for PhD research scholars at an Indian or French Research Institute / University. It is an opportunity for students to carry out part of their research work ( three to six months) in a foreign University / Institute based in France or India. The scheme provides an exposure and experience about the current research methods and trends in France/India, while discovering another cultural context.
